Forest Management Planning

A forest management plan is a document that clearly outlines the landowners objectives, provides a complete description of the property that addresses the current condition of the forest, and future recommendations that should take place to meet the desired objectives.  Management plans are a working blueprint that will need updating as landowners needs and objectives change or as forest conditions are altered.  A detailed map highlighting different timber stands, acres, boundary lines, unique features, and access roads should accompany the plan.

Tax plans are basic forest management plans that are filed with the county the property is located in that can reduce property taxes on average by 75%.  These plans are written for landowners who own 20 acres or more of forestland that is managed for commercial forest products.  Any tracts of land that are smaller than 20 acres can be rolled under the 20 acre parent tract for reduced property taxes as well.
